State of the Nation: RTE Section 12(1)(c)

August 2017

The third State of the Nation: RTE Section 12 (1) (c) report was released on 11th August, at IIM Ahmedabad. The report is a collaborative effort of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Centre for Policy Research and Central Square Foundation. Section 12 (1) (c) of the Right to Education Act mandates unaided private schools to keep aside at least 25% of their seats in entry level classes for children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups. While previous editions described the status of the implementation of this provision across all States/UTs, this year it is focused on states using an online system to manage the process. You can read the report here.
