Pilot involving the delivery of Maths instruction using a blend of Khan Academy's learning platform and teacher-led classroom instruction. The project is being piloted with 225 students in classes 3 to 6 in five schools managed by Akanksha Foundation and Teach for India. The Foundation for Learning Equality, a US-based nonprofit has made the Khan Academy platform available offline on low-cost tablets using the Rasberry Pi device. The 2nd phase of the project in 2014-2015 would involve scaling up the pilot to about 1,850 students in classes 3-6 in 18 schools and evaluating the impact on student motivation and learning outcomes. The Motivation For Excellence Foundation (MFE) is providing funding, management and personnel support for the project. The Akanksha Foundation and Teach For India are supporting deployment in their classrooms. The research team at University of California, San Diego overseen by Professor Karthik Muralidharan is supporting the design and evaluation of the program.
