A better way to teach children to read? Evidence from a Randomised Control Trial

Using three randomized evaluations, this study assess the relative efficacy of a literacy skills development program in Mumbai on children in three types of educational institutions: public schools, a stand‐alone reading class, and pre‐schools. The new methods prove effective in all populations and, on average, all implementation strategies yield gains in performance on a basic literacy assessment.
